Alaska Driving Academy

Course Description

This course was designed for drivers seeking their class “A” or "B" CDL license that have a lot of experience behind the wheel of a commercial vehicle. This course gives drivers 1 day (6 hours) to develop familiarity with the truck and/or trailer they will use to take their CDL exam and then a two hour window to complete the CDL exam requirements (pre-trip inspection, basic skills, and road exam). The vehicles provided by the Alaska Driving Academy are Freightliner FLD-120's with Detroit Diesel Series 60 engines with 9 speed transmissions.

Course Requirements

-At least 19 years of age

-Must have current DOT physical

-Valid Alaska Driver's license with "IA" or IB" Permit for at least 14 days

Length of Course

8 hrs over a 1 day period

-6 hours of actual driving time

-2 hours for CDL exam

Course Certificates

Upon successfully completing this course students are given the opportunity to obtain a

State of Alaska Driver’s License Class “A” or "B".
